Berkley One shares 2019 “Moving Families Forward” charitable initiative results
The holidays are my favorite time of year. I love the bustle and spirit that shows up everywhere—not to mention the excuse to make my famous cinnamon rolls. But what I love most is the tremendous sense of community this time of year. It always feels like the time when our collective sense of optimism and generosity are at their best.
At Berkley One, community is one of the most personal parts of who we are—and it has been since the beginning. Last year, our team listed community involvement as one of our biggest priorities in growing our culture. Shortly after, we announced the launch of Moving Families Forward, Berkley One’s charitable initiative.
As an insurance provider, our mission is to support families in their adventure, knowing that no two adventures are the same. Our volunteer mission, too, is focused on being there for families and individuals where and how they need support, recognizing that everyone offers something different. Moving Families Forward is our way of giving back, and it includes paid time to volunteer, platforms to record and share our experiences and recognition for both larger team events and individual contributions to causes that are personal and authentic to our employees. After our first full year, we’re excited about the impact that Moving Families Forward has made and the opportunity to share our 2019 results with you.
In capturing our first full year of responses, we recognized more ways our employees made a difference in 2019—for instance, our time spent giving back increased by 444%! We also saw certain categories of volunteer activities, like helping children in crisis and investing in local communities, emerge as areas of authentic involvement for our team. As we look forward to 2020, here’s to many more ways to connect and make a difference together.
