The Car

Code named LP500S, there have been numerous improvements and enhancements to the 1982 Lamborghini Countach since the original model launched in 1974. The glorious V12 was enlarged to 4.8 liters, producing 375 horsepower at 7000 rpm. The interior was also updated along with the bodywork of the prior LP400S model. The iconic upwards-opening hinging doors, or “scissor doors,” are still to this day a trademark look for Lamborghini Supercars. The performance of the car was breathtaking at the time with a top speed in excess of 180 miles per hour and 0-60 in the low 5 second range. The Countach eschewed interior creature comforts for jaw dropping, chiseled body lines and superb mid-engine handling characteristics.

The Collector

The Countach is the car that created the legendary Lamborghini brand that exists today. The LP500S is an extremely sought after version as only 321 were produced between 1982 and 1985 and less than 2000 total Countach models were produced over the span of 16 years.

The Love

The Countach is special because of its completely revolutionary body design and matching performance from a race-inspired high-revving V12 engine. Iconic for its time and often featured on posters hanging on many a car enthusiast’s wall, the 500S is a showstopper when seen in person.
