The Car.

The 1999 Porsche 911, also known as the 996 generation, is known for its sleek modern design. It boasts a 3.4L rear mounted, flat six water-cooled engine, which enhances performance and handling while producing 282 horsepower. It also has a 6-speed manual transmission and a curb weight of 3,020 lbs. This aerodynamic car can accelerate from 0-60 MPH in 5.2 seconds, and has a top speed over 170 MPH.

The Collector

This car launched the 911 Porsche into the water-cooled engine era. The water-cooled engine (vs. prior air-cooled engines) allowed for higher power output as well as reduced emissions. It marked a large leap in technology and refinement. The car was also longer and wider, but with the bonus of weighing 110 less pounds.

The Love

The 1999 Porsche 911 blends classic 911 design with modern innovation. Over time, 911 lovers came to respect its leap in technology and what the 996 generation allowed modern Porsche 911’s to become. By introducing the first water-cooled engine, the 996 became the modern building block for future generations of these most iconic sports cars.
